Midterm

The midterm will be as planned with the requirements as listed in the program.

Conceptually the structure is a type of frame model.
Circulation is a type of horizontal plane model which is required to make relation to the site per our studio datum drawing.
Volumn is a type of enclosure/ facade model.
These ideas of point-frame, plane, volumn will marry the program with the architectonics to make place.

Last class, I asked everyone to think about interesting sections in terms of view and
program relations. For example: there should be two types of entrances: one for the community- free public space and one for the membershiped swimmer. Both of these indiviudals will mix but maintan a separation in the wet verses dry space.They can mix at the juice bar or some rooftop viewing space.

A scheme is when the idea is whole and the structure tells you what it should be. The project almost designs itself. Robert came across this on Friday with a model he built and is the only one that has a whole scheme.
The model made entry, made separation, said the structure, it was very intresting; les make sure he does not loose this discovery.

I am looking for a new model and drawings Tuesday. I will bring my timer so not to go over time.

Jesse and Guseppie have some work to do for the exhibition during class, i would like some of you to volunterrt to reorganzie the window coverings.
