Three Cheers!

While I was busy with examinations and all, I did make time for relaxation..

I celebrated my partner's 26th Birthday!

Before this we had our first Gold Class experience during one of our anniversaries, I reckon. It was in Great World City. This time round, I decided to bring him to VivoCity Gold Class. (This is his ninth birthday with me!)  I called up for Golden Village (GV) concierge service (my first time engaging this service) with GV Gold Class (SGD $28 per ticket). For the benefit of those who're interested, there's an additional service charge of SGD$10, SGD$25 charge if you wanna bring in a birthday cake and SGD$45 if you wanna arrange for a one-way transport service to the cinema. I drove my partner there so I'm his indirect chauffeur for that day. I ordered the Gold Class Set which was $33++ per pax. My set was slightly higher because I ordered a root beer float which was not included. The Appetizers and GV Platter are highly recommended dishes whereas the main dishes were rather disappointing but desserts and the hilarious movie (Just Go With It) totally made up for it. I strongly suggest you have your food inside the cinema rather than at the lounge area because its so much more private and cozy! I'm aware that SHAW launched Premiere theaters in NEX mall at a much more affordable price (SGD$18 per ticket) compared to Gold Class. They provide dining pre-screen too but I'm not too sure about concierge services. Their sofa seats are made of leather, so I'm visualizing a hell lot more comfort while watching a movie. I'm waiting for them to show a really good movie so that I can blog about my experiences there.

I got him a Plantronics BackBeat 903+ Wireless EarPhones. I bought the LAST one in Singapore, I kid you not. I went to 5 -6 Apple Stores and ION had the last set. After Singapore stopped selling Motorola S10, this Wireless EarPhones (below) is the best thing you can get for your man. Tried and tested. He hugged me till I was breathless!

Just before my examinations started, I went out for a virgin picnic in Botanic Gardens with Mann. I got to know her through Twitter and met her during the Samantha Thavasa Private launch in Singapore. Mann was so nice to jot down a list of things to buy/bring on that day for me and she even went to Daiso and bought mats for us to sit on. We didn't know that we're bot dragon babies and we instantly clicked when we meet. We're both born in the same month and are so down-to-earth!

I was supposed to make egg sandwiches but I ended up buying pizzas and Starbuck's croissant sandwiches for the both of us. Mann bought KOI, made some jelly and cut fruits. We did learn that we need a bigger mat and we totally forgot about nature beings! Half of the time I was like flickering ants charging at my legs and food. Despite all that, we manage to take a few pictures. Mann brought her Polaroid and all the pictures are so effortless. I love impromptu shots.

By this time, I've completed my papers and I was so happy that I could spend time with Norizan and Atiqah. We snacked on BEST FRIES FOREVER, went to snip Norizan's fringe, ate cheap and good food in Far East Plaza for dinner and felt 'gyaru' so we took neoprints together after a shitlong hiatus.

Few years ago, I remembered neoprints were between SGD$3-$9 and you can find the machines at any mediocre spots. But now, they only have it at Bugis and Cathay. (I'm not sure of other any other places, though.) The three of us took nearly an hour to doll up for the shot but when we start rolling the coins, things snapped up really fast. The most silliest part was clicked the screen like we know Japanese. I couldn't stop sighing and laughing to myself, after about more than an hour of neoprint decoration, the print was super tiny and our eyes look like black dots. Prices of neoprints shot up to a whopping SGD$12! We didn't wanna take another one but we learn one thing though; make use of the counter girl to set the size and shot types for us before taking the neoprint.

I nearly sign up for Japanese classes last semester. I might really consider taking up Japanese lessons. Its hard to have ギャル inspirations when I don't understand a word from them other than こんにちわ.

Walking down memory lane and moving forward.

I've had the best few years of my life and it all started out when I was shortlisted as one of the 10 finalist for CLEO Cover Girl in 2007. It was my first ever attention-seeking participation. Well, at least that's what my partner label any form of modeling as but I didn't get through the voting print. Let's just put it this way, I was stupid. After that, I was actively participating online activities on a show, SupermodelMe. I was very honored to meet Charmaine Harn in person. She's au natural, I must say. Right now, SupermodelMe Season II is launching real soon and I wanna apart of the hype all over again! All this happened while I was working full-time. I never knew that I had so much free time. But, I was glad it happened although I disappoint myself at some point. I think I took breaks, here and there after SupermodelMe.

My next attention-seeking participation was being on of the top 5 finalist for CLEO's first ever blogging competition. I won the first prize! During my winning year, I was invited as one of the Judges for CLEO's yearly Beauty Hall of Fame. This year's CLEO Beauty Blogger Winner will experience a once in a lifetime truckloads of freebies worth over SGD$1K! My sisters and I were speechless when all the products ranging from body, nails, face, hair, fragrance, cosmetics, etc .. Came in all at one within 3 days. It was truly a girl's dream and at that point in time, I seriously thought heaven came down to earth. 

In conjunction, I got to know Jacelyn through Twitter where she brought me to a few workshops she had and from there, I met Belinda. She invited me to a Freshlook Illuminate lens launch which is my third attention-seeking participation. I'm selected as one of the 30 Effortless Beauty ambassadors for their new Illuminate lenses! I was also featured in their Effortless Beauties Celander 2011! I have perfect eyesight so I'll use all the lenses on special occasions or when I simply feel like wearing it. They're like big eye lens so it gives me the perk-me-up look I needed on mad sleepy days..

My fourth and ultimate attention-seeking participation was being apart of Wendy's Essentials hair product photo-shoot. I think my permed hair was atrociously horrible that I was one of the perfect candidate! You can check out my undeniably beautiful shots here! I'm still learning to do a perfect fishtail braids with this straight hair of mine, though. I know its not hair, I just need more practice.

I was attending all kinds of workshop like crazy throughout all those epic happenings! Brands from Esprit, CHANEL, Dior, Maquillage, Z.A, Shiseido, M.A.C, TopShop, Makeup Store, etc... Too many workshops, you can check out some of it here. I did document all these while I was blogging here and there but sadly for me, it didn't crossed my mind to backup archives of my entries. I mean, come on, how would I know bloggers might just be the next best journalist? On the contrary, most bloggers are not a qualified journalist. 

I'm grateful with whatever that comes along my way. I see all these as gifts from god. I have a literally hardcore full-time job so all these creates a balance in my life. Controls my stress levels, keeps me happy and motivates me to live a fruitful life, offline.

What's happening to Sharithstar now?

I'm still having a close-knitted relationship with CLEO. CLEO's like an elder sister to me. A magazine where I can seek for advice, 'receive presents' as in to participate in their competitions and win awesome prizes and get fantastic inspirations from.. I'm not playing. I do read other magazines but CLEO is a must  buy every month. I never knew why I didn't sign up for their monthly subscription, up till now. Searching and looking forward to their issues every month just excites me in peculiar ways I can't really comprehend.

Yes, I'm still a Freshlook Illuminate lens ambassador till further notice. It was slightly hard for me at first because they made me do a photo-shoot wearing a tube top! My partner's many definitions of slut is wearing tube top and honestly I was not comfortable with it at all. But, it was apart of their requirement. I do not have a choice. But it was something new and a challenging one.

Blogging from my iPhone.

I wanna be able to blog from my iPhone because a lotta of my inspirations and thoughts are much more interesting when I'm moving and going places. Thank god iPhone pictures are brilliant when there's amazing sunlight. I'll promise to post clear photos. Actually this BlogPress application is kinda cool. I bought the full application. It's USD$2.99 and its worth buying.

What I'm very afraid of is when I'm typing a really long entry and Poof! the application crash. I'll get fired up and probably lose inspirations tapping on my iPhone. I'll have to make it a habit to tap on the 'save draft' button so I don't lose my words!

As for now, I don't have any interesting pictures to share. I'm chillaxin' at home, working on the mess I did online. My email got spammed and I created a new one. My second year of examinations were over few days back. I'm on holidays right now till late March so life is moving along in slow motion. I hope by being able to blog through my iPhone encourages me to blog religiously.

I really have good topics to blog about and I'm so very excited to share it with you guys. I'm loving this free white space and a very-close-replica-of-my-handwriting font on my blog. LG GT540 Optimus Android is a smartphone with affordable high-end properties. LG has abandoned the QWERTY keyboard of the new Optimus, but is having a big, bright 3.2-inch touch screen. Look, the GT540 seems anything but cheap, the curved design and brushed metal with the result that the phone looks more like a high-end, which suggests its price.

LG Display Optimus GT450 is a 320 x 480 pixels, so it is easy to read text, and is ideal for watching movies on the road. Optimus smartphones have full access to Wi-Fi, 3G HSDPA and Bluetooth connectivity and a GPS chip that allows the turn-by-turn navigation with Google Maps. Optimus GT450 makes a great media player with a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you can use your favorite phone, as well as FM radio and native support for DivX video codec.

Although the LG GT450 Optimus running version 1.6 of Android now outdated, is still able to access the Android Market, where you can download many free and paid applications and games, and a welcome screen customized with preinstalled widgets that allow direct access to social networking sites and applications in common use. Optimus has a 3 megapixel camera capable of decent pictures, but lacks a flash, and comes with geo-tagging and face recognition modes.

Proved to be a large market for mid-range smartphones like the Optimus LG, with its elegant look and decent list of features, LG has made an enormous effort to produce a phone that can cope with competition from Samsung and HTC. With the combined budgets of all the key question is always what counts for cutting, and Optimus decision to use a resistive touch screen is probably the biggest complaint against him.

A decision incomprehensible is that LG has chosen to go with a now outdated version of Android for Optimus, while future updates are of course possible. It's a shame that GT540 comes with several features like Wi-Fi and GPS, the latest Android build preparing such a good use with features such as satellite navigation and push e-mail. However, Optimus GT540 is a decent handset collected from LG, higher expectations for what is expected at this price level.
