Kangna Ranaut Might Replace Vidya Balan In Ishqiya 2

Arshad Warsi is keen on having his Double Dhamaal co-star Kangana Ranaut in the sequel of Ishqiya and is pushing filmmakers to cast her.

An industry insider informs, “He has recommended her name to director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Vishal Bharadwaj and Ketan Maroo because he strongly feels that she suits the role and is a perfect femme fatale.”

Both the actors worked together for the first time in the recently released Double Dhamaal and bonded big time.

Another source adds, “After rom-com Tanu Weds Manu and comedy Double Dhamaal, Kangana’s versatility as an actress has been established. These films have proved the audiences have accepted her. All these factors make her a strong contender for the role.”

However, a friend of Kangana says it’s not Arshad but the producer and director of the film who have approached her for the sequel.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will now be cast in the upcoming movie ‘Daayan’ which will be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The director opted for Vidya despite ditching the actress for the sequel of the hit movie ‘Ishqiya’.

Vidya’s absence in the movie had shocked the industry as well as the actress. The ‘Hey Baby’ actress had received several appreciations for the movie, but was unfortunately not retained for the sequel.

Sources from the production unit had said that earlier actress Rani Mukherji was approached for the role, but had rejected the offer when she learnt that Emraan Hashmi was to play the lead role.

‘Daayan’ is a project which will be jointly made by Vishal and Ekta Kapoor. The makers are currently finalizing the cast of the movie. The story of the movie is about a man played by Emraan, who is in a relationship with three women and one of them is a witch (Daayan). This makes it obvious that the female role of the movie would indeed be challenging for the actress.
